Chili's Grill & Bar, along with Brinker International, the company that owns the restaurant, announced this weekend that a recent "data incident" may have compromised some customers' payment information.

The chain also says only "certain" restaurants were impacted, and only in March and April of 2018, though they are still working with security experts to evaluate the incident.

They said that malware was used to gather card information including credit and debit card numbers and names of cardholders.

The chain recommended not closing bank and credit card accounts but to monitor statements for accuracy.

"However, out of an abundance of caution, we recommend that you remain vigilant and consider taking one or more [.] steps to avoid identity theft, obtain additional information, and protect your personal information". Chili's has not released the restaurant locations affected by the breach as of yet. The breach did not occur at all locations.

Brinker learned of the incident on May 11, the company said, adding that only certain restaurants were affected. Hit the link below to read the entire press release and find out more.
