Ryan Coogler Reveals How 'Lincoln' Inspired a Key 'Black Panther' Scene

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler spoke to reporters at the Cannes Film Festival and revealed some interesting insights into what could be in store for the Marvel Studios' franchise.

During a almost two-hour-long talk with Coogler at the Cannes Film Festival, he was asked if he'd ever put together such a movie. "That would be incredible if the opportunity came up". He also mentioned that there's a historical precedent for one: "They did it in the comic-book version".

Fans could get a female-led Black Panther spinoff if Marvel signs off on the idea.

It may only be May, but Black Panther has already had a massively awesome year.

Victor Wanyama receives praise from Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino
The game kicks-off at 3pm on Sunday along with every other match on the final day of the English top flight season. The second season we finished third, but we lost the possibility to win the league against Chelsea with the draw.

"You feel like you are watching something fresh and new", Coogler noted, according to Indiewire. "That part of it was exciting", Coogler shared. "These actresses could easily carry their own movie".

Black Panther's strong and complex women characters also became instant fan favourites with Lupita Nyongo as Nakia, Lelita Wright as Shuri and Danai Gurira as Okoye. "I would watch a movie with them!" For him, his favorite part of Black Panther involved the women after T'Challa disappears for a portion of the movie.

While at Cannes Film Festival yesterday afternoon (May 10), Coogler didn't flinch at the question if the women of 'Black Panther' were as important as the men, boldly stating: "I think you could argue they are more important". Just woo us as you have been.
