Ramos Misses Penalty As Sevilla Edge Out Ronaldo-less Madrid

Sevilla defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in their La Liga match on Wednesday as Zinedine Zidane's men stumbled in Sanchez Pizjuan.

Suffering what must go down as a disappointing league campaign, Real Madrid lost 3-2 to Sevilla this evening as Barcelona moved one game closer to an unbeaten league season.

In the Spanish Primera Division or La Liga, the teams Real Madrid and Sevilla FC face against each other today.

The visitors were without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo and went behind to Wissam Ben Yedder's opener after 26 minutes.

Madrid made seven changes to their starting lineup on the back of the 2-2 draw with Barcelona last weekend - a result that moved them to within three points of second-placed Atletico Madrid. Nico Pareja's long ball from the back was flicked on by Luis Muriel to Ben Yedder, and he held off Ramos before coolly slotting through Kiko Casilla's legs.

Two minutes later, it was the home side with a meaningful chance after Sergio Escudero's effort from a cross was blocked off by Sergio Ramos.

Lucas Vazquez and Ramos got shots away early in the second half as Madrid attempted to find a route back into the game, and they were granted a glorious chance to do so from 12 yards.

Madrid striker Borja Mayoral headed a goal back for Madrid in the 87th and Ramos scored from his second attempt from the penalty spot deep in injury time.

Madrid's pressure started to tell late in the match as Mayoral glanced a header past David Soria to give his side a platform to build on.

Former Sevilla defender Ramos struck the crossbar from the spot in the 58th minute and then put through his own net to stretch the home side's advantage to three goals in the 84th as he tried to cut out a cross from Gabriel Mercado.
