Gmail adds a predictive type feature called Smart Compose

Using machine learning and an understanding of messages you've previously written, Smart Compose will take the context of your text and predict what may be coming next.

The feature builds on last year's Smart Reply, which appeared on the Gmail mobile app last year.

Using the latest AI, Gmail will be able to understand what you are typing and fill in full sentences before you can finish writing.

In our tests, Smart Compose is best at filling in salutations or finishing simple questions such as "What's up with you?" or "Where are you?"

Smart Compose operates in the background, letting you accept its suggestions or ignore them, so you don't need to change the way you now compose drafts.

Missouri Air National Guardsman stabbed to death in roadside incident
It was at that point when the other driver repeatedly stabbed Harter before getting into his vehicle and driving away. Lee's Summit police believe Harter was stabbed during the argument and stumbled into traffic where he died.

Security Bank describes 2016 as "a very bad year for email, in particular for the public perception of the safety of email as a communication mechanism", referencing "some very, very high-profile leaked emails that had serious global consequences".

The feature isn't available to everyone just yet, but it will be available in the coming weeks. "It can even suggest relevant contextual phrases", Google stated. To ensure you're eligible to try out this new capability, head into your settings and make sure "Try the new Gmail" is enabled.

If you're on a consumer Gmail account, you can access the new feature now by first enabling the new Gmail (Settings Try the new Gmail) and then finding the general tab, and enabling "experimental access".

"If you want to switch back, you can always uncheck the box", said Google.

The developer notes accompanying the update in the iOS App Store said the feature works for "anyone with an email address".
