Heat Game 2: Why it will be a shootout

Dwyane Wade rolled back the years with a vintage performance as the Miami Heat ended Philadelphia's 17-game winning streak to level their Eastern Conference playoff series on Monday.

While the 36-year-old is still several thousand points away from the top of the list - LeBron James holds the top spot with almost 6,200 playoff points - moving to the 10th spot on the list is certainly impressive.

The Philadelphia 76ers enjoyed a 130-103 victory against the Miami Heat in their first playoff game since 2012. A three-time National Basketball Association champion, Wade has settled into a bench role in his return to the Heat, but the team likes to play through the veteran guard when he's on the floor.

Ben Simmons led the Philadelphia scoring with 24 points, with Dario Saric adding 23 and Marco Belinelli 16.

"The second quarter definitely is where they punched us in the mouth and we didn't respond the right way", the rookie said post-game.

With the Sixers struggling from three-point range, the Heat found their touch, outscoring Philly by 34-13 in the second quarter to take a 56-42 lead into the half-time break.

Sports Philadelphia announced Monday that Saturday night's Sixers playoff game was the highest-rated Sixers game they've aired in 15 years. Embiid had hoped to play in Game 2 after the NBA's concussion protocol, but the Sixers are being conservative with his return to the court and ultimately ruled him out.

Whiteside was awful in Game 1 on Saturday night, scoring two points on 1-for-4 shooting with two turnovers in 12 minutes. "I just want the green light to play". Sixers coach Brett Brown even went as far is to say the team could have used him.

"When he's not able to do that he gets frustrated and I respect his frustration".
