Vincent Kompany returns for Manchester City

Liverpool celebrate winning the European Cup

Guardiola was playing golf with Tommy Fleetwood, the world No12, and his son Marius at Sandiway in Cheshire when news filtered through that Manchester United had slumped to a miserable 1-0 defeat to bottom club West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford to guarantee their rivals the title.

Guardiola failed to pick up a trophy in his first year at the Etihad Stadium but has now won the league and EFL Cup - secured with victory over Arsenal at Wembley in February - this season.

City captain Kompany watched the match at the house of his Mancunian wife Carla Higgs, who invited her United-supporting father to join the party.

'You can't take it for granted, I have been lucky to win three but so many I have missed as well.

"We were exhausted, not just physically but mentally as well and a lot of big characters stood up today and that gives me a lot of pride again to be able to share these moments with this team".

Vincent Kompany says it's too early to say whether they are the best EPL team ever.

"This is not a dynasty, it is one title we've won".

2 security personnel martyred in Afghan cross border attack
The two countries are separated by the 2,400-kilometer (1,500-mile) Durand Line, which was drawn by British rulers in 1896. Afghanistan does not recognize it as an worldwide border and has objected to new fortifications being built by Pakistan.

"Just one more time, come on City!"

"Everyone that plays under him will have had success because of him, because he has the ability to unlock the full potential". Filmed in his in-laws' home watching and reacting to City's title win, giving an interview to the press... and tonight, hanging out with John Stones, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph in a Manchester pub!

"You can't stay in your front room when you win the Premier League", one of those associated with City said as he exited the venue to no doubt continue the celebrations elsewhere.

"At my age, you can still learn and we share one thing: that hunger and desire never to be satisfied".

"But in our defence, we can only be judged on a period of time, so we need, two, three or four years in a row and if at the end of this we are consistent like we have been this season then perhaps, but we have taken one step that's all we can do at the moment".

"I had a feeling when I woke up this morning".

"It shows how football is lived in Manchester as we have Reds in the family and Blues but today was a day for the Blues". You realise something can happen and it was a wonderful goal by Rodriguez so thank you!
