Patriots' Rob Gronkowski will not attend start of Patriots' offseason program

The Patriots tight end is still weighing his options and contemplating his future.

Schefter adds that Gronkowski and the Patriots have had "good communication" throughout the offseason.

This all began after the Super Bowl when Gronkowski wouldn't commit to playing in 2018. The Pro Bowl tight end has two years and $17 million remaining on his contract.

Gronk does have incentive to be in Foxborough for the workouts at some point.

Naturally, with reports of a growing strain in the relationship between Belichick and his two stars, Brady and Gronkowski, there will be a keen eye kept on their absence, and how long they remain away. "It will be heavily attended, but I know there are a couple players that I've talked to that have other commitments, but that's the way it always is, too". Rapoport reports that Gronkowski has trained this offseason at the TB12 Sports Therapy Center and the expectation remains that he will play in 2018.
