Jodie Foster Runs a Hospital for Criminals in 'Hotel Artemis' First Trailer

Hotel Artemis Sterling K Brown and Sofia Boutella

Jodie Foster is the creepy hospital owner of our (scary) dreams in the new trailer for Hotel Artemis, written and directed by Iron Man 3's Drew Pearce. Foster also raised some eyebrows late a year ago, when she accused superhero tentpoles of "ruining" the filmgoing habits of Americans.

It's set in Los Angeles in the near future and will see Jodie Foster take her first acting role since 2013's Elysium, playing head nurse and overseer at a members-only hospital for criminals in the riot-torn city. When Brown's Waikiki steals a portable vault worth millions and brings it inside Hotel Artemis, Jeff Goldblum's crime boss character tracks him down - and shows that he couldn't care less about the hospital's strict regulations. Foster plays the hospital's main nurse and overseer. Pearce went on to direct the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King, and Hotel Artemis marks his ambitious feature debut as a filmmaker.

Hotel Artemis has a ridiculously talented cast, and it looks like the upcoming thriller will have more than enough badass characters and action scenes to keep the energy of the trailer going. Pearce also had a hand in writing the perennially delayed Sherlock Holmes 3 for Robert Downey Jr. and a now cancelled Ghostbusters spinoff that would have starred Channing Tatum, potentially opposite Chris Pratt.

John Oliver Bought Russell Crowe's Jockstrap for Alaska's Last Blockbuster Video
First, an update on the once-ubiquitous Blockbuster chain: there are still four operating Blockbuster stores in the United States.

But amid the chaos, Hotel Artemis appears to be a bit of a sanctuary. But damn, if Hotel Artemis doesn't have a stellar cast.

Release is due for 8 June 2018.
