'SNL': Robert De Niro plays Robert Mueller grilling Ben Stiller's Michael Cohen

The face-off was a twisted take on the film "Meet the Parents" when De Niro's character gets to know his soon-to-be son-in-law, Greg Focker, played by Stiller.

After yet another week of controversy and scandal surrounding the Donald Trump administration, the president forced to push back and make major decisions impacting his time in office.

Stiller, as Cohen, tried desperately to wiggle his way out of a lie detector test, fearing he would inadvertently reveal that his boss knew about the hush money.

Together, Stiller and De Niro delivered the classic "live from New York" line to usher in the episode, hosted by former SNL writer John Mulaney. The show's cold open had plenty of material to work with this week.

"I mean you can milk anything with nipples", Stiller's Cohen said.

Mission accomplished in Syria, Donald Trump declares
In light of the chilling threat from Russia , Trump naturally took to - what else - Twitter , to gloat about the attack. Russia vetoed a USA text, while two Russian-drafted resolutions failed to get a minimum nine votes to pass.

Robert De Niro, as Robert Mueller, interrogates Ben Stiller, as Michael Cohen, in a spoof of "Meet the Parents" meets the special counsel's investigation. "How'd you like that pee-pee tape?"

"Cohen" accuses "Mueller" of launching personal-attack witch hunts against the Trump family.

After being pressed on whether or not he made a "hush money" payment to Stormy Daniels, the mock Michael Cohen replied, "I was just trying to milk some information out of people". "Yeah, like a cow, a goat, or a cat". Trump's code name used to be "Putin's little bitch", now it's "Stormy's little bitch", he explains.

"I'll start with some easy ones", De Niro's Mueller said.
