Gun right supporters rally in Hartford

The National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans organized 2nd Amendment rallies across the country.

A field of American Flags and others were waving at the Americans for America rally at the capital.

At least some of the impetus for Saturday's rally was March for Our Lives, the March 24 pro-gun control event organized by some of the surviving students from the February 14 shooting massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

Since it took place on state property, guns were not allowed at the pro-gun rally.

"The things that they are proposing we feel do not make sense, the push behind it is protect our students, protect our schools, no one in this crowd wants to un-protect our schools, no one in this crowd wants unsafe schools, we do want personal freedom and individual liberty protected", said Bobby Lawrence, event organizer.

"We just do not want innocent people or citizens to be punished for those criminals", Stout said.

Devonte Hart's Adopted Mother Was Drunk When She Drove SUV Off Cliff
But what most alarmed Argyropoulos was that Hart repeatedly withheld meals from the children, who appeared constantly hungry. She said that Downs is the fifth grandchild she has lost since 2015, and three of those deaths were caused by gun violence.

This rally comes on the heels of last month's March for our Lives, which addressed gun violence in schools and pushed for a solution. From a moral and ethical standpoint, it is hard learning of a new tragedy from a day-to-day basis, but it is even more troubling when I learn that an organization or group of people is being blamed besides the perpetrator who has committed a crime.

Attendees said they believe restricting what guns you buy goes against the Second Amendment.

"Gun safety. Having it with her all the time".

"It's about protecting the nation", he said.

"I'm exhausted of my generation being portrayed.as advocates for taking away our rights", Groce said. "Guns are not the problem", said Jimmie Boyd of Forsyth County.
