Seven dead as Philippine plane crashes into house

Rescuers recover dead bodies after a small plane crashed into a house in Plaridel town Bulacan province Philippines

All five people on the plane, including the pilot and chief engineer, were killed.

Eyewitnesses have said the plane hit a tree and electric post before slamming into the house. The crash killed all six people on board and one more person on the ground in Plaridel.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said in an initial statement that the plane was bound for Laoag, Ilocos Norte, when it crash landed upon takeoff at from Plaridel Airport at 11:21 am on Saturday. The other victims were the residents of the house, who were eating their lunch when the crash happened.

CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said all aircrafts operated by Lite Air Express were grounded pending investigation.
