Matt Damon, Ben Affleck Become Next Stars to Formally Adopt Inclusion Riders

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck follow Michael B. Jordan and adopt inclusion riders

In a speech at the Oscars, Frances McDormand made mention of the inclusion rider.

Michael B. Jordan announced on March 7 that he would add the inclusion rider to all projects produced by his company, Outlier Society Productions.

In a statement released to media by the Initiative, it said: "It's great to see Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and the Pearl Street Films team using their influence to create opportunities for people from underrepresented groups to enter the industry".

The news was announced on Twitter by the company's head of strategic outreach Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni in response to a tweet from Michael B. Jordan in which he announced his own production company would be adopting the rider.

Manchester United captain Michael Carrick to retire at end of season
Carrick is, though, expected to remain at United as part of Jose Mourinho's coaching staff next season. It's kind of been sorted out ", the midfielder stated whether he would be moving behind the scenes.

The Twitter post by Cox DiGiovanni praised Jordan's move. "On behalf of Pearl Street Films, Matt Damon, Ben Afflect, Jennifer Todd, Drew Vinton & I will be adopting the #InclusionRider for all of our projects moving forward". The actress left the room abuzz, while viewers at home frantically began Googling the phrase-which refers to a contractual stipulation that stars can include in their contracts, assuring that their film sets are inclusive both on and off screen.

Under their Pearl Street Films banner, Affleck and Damon have produced films such as Manchester By the Sea, Jason Bourne, and Live By Night, among other features and television series, and are now working on Matt Reeves' The Batman (with Affleck still set to star as the Caped Crusader) and Affleck's remake of Witness for the Prosecution.

"We all have stories to tell and we need finance". She concluded her speech with: "I have two words for you: inclusion rider".

An inclusion rider, McDormand later explained to the press backstage, "means that you can ask for and/or demand at least 50% diversity, not only in casting but also [in] the crew".
