Hillary Clinton: United States "doesn't deserve Trump"

Then-presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton recently Americans living in the middle of the country who voted for Donald Trump at an event in IN, saying they were 'backward'.

"Make America Great Again" was looking backwards.

The host of the event pressed Clinton on whether she believes Russian Federation has "something" on Trump.

"I won the places that represent two-thirds of America's gross domestic product", Clinton said. "Whatever your problem is - I'm going to solve it".

Sir Tim Berners-Lee stays committed to the World Wide Web
Berners-Lee is concerned about the fact that a small "handful of platforms control which ideas and opinions are seen and shared". The centralisation of power onto global social networks has enabled misinformation and abuse to spread across the web.

And in comments seized on by the Republican National Committee, Clinton said she had won sections of the country with more economic output and attributed some of Trump's insurgent victory to a series of social and economic anxieties and discriminatory attitudes among his supporters.

After a brief pause that was punctuated with laughter and clapping at the event, Clinton said, "I would have to say "no", we did not deserve that".

Clinton described what she believed to be the underlying message of Trump's 2016 campaign: "You didn't like black people getting rights, you don't like women, you know, getting jobs", Clinton said. She played up the states that supported her as more economically advanced than the states that voted for Trump, calling them "dynamic" and "moving forward". "What does that mean?" she said.

Talking about the alleged Russian interference in the US election and the campaign against her, Hillary Clinton said that as a US Secretary of State in 2011, she had said that people of Russia deserved free and fair elections. Whether you see it that way or not, she does seem to suggest Trump subsisted on voters who were simply, well, less sophisticated or advanced.
