Djokovic suffers 'weird' loss at Indian Wells as he returns from surgery

The Serb was once the most dominant player around - winning four straight grand slam titles from 2015 to 2016 - but little of that scintillating form was on display when the 12-time grand slam victor was upset by Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-1 in the second round in Indian Wells on Sunday.

Federer barely raised a sweat as he advanced on Monday, the evergreen 36-year-old blitzing Filip Krajinovic 6-2, 6-1.

"Very weird. I mean, I just completely lost rhythm, everything".

Holder Roger Federer avoided the same fate as Djokovic, though the Swiss top seed was pushed by left-handed Argentine Federico Delbonis in a match that was completed on Sunday after being halted by rain at 2-2 in the second set the previous day.

Djokovic had four aces but overall he served poorly making four double faults and winning just 65 percent of his first-serve points.

Djokovic made a comeback after a long period out of the game at the Australian Open.

Edmund, who has been out of action with a hip injury since his brilliant performance in Melbourne, led Israel's Dudi Sela 3-1 in the opening set and had two break points to go further ahead.

"I was feeling like he was not loving my slice and I was also mixing in dropshots", said Federer, who extended his flawless record this season to 14-0.

House Intel Panel Will Announce End Of Russia Probe Interviews Monday
Adam Schiff of California, the committee's senior Democrat and a former federal prosecutor, said in a recent statement. The committee reportedly interviewed its final witness, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, last week.

"And even though you don't have pain, you're still thinking about it, because it's been something that I have been feeling and dragging for over two years".

"The rest, I said I will decide after Miami to then decide what I will play if I do play the clay court after that".

"But it's not easy to deal with this kind of frustrations after injuries or when you always be the favorite to win a tournament, you come here and you lose in first round".

It was the earliest loss for Djokovic at Indian Wells since a first-round exit in 2006.

In other men's matches, Juan Martin del Potro steamed his way into the third round as the sixth seed needed just 69 minutes to beat Australian teenager Alex de Minaur 6-2, 6-1.

The win sets up a third round showdown with Spaniard David Ferrer who defeated Tennys Sandgren of the United States 6-2, 7-6 (7/3).

He will now play against another American, Jack Sock, who beat Italy's Thomas Fabbiano 6-2, 7-5.

Grigor Dimitrov will not be in round three after the third seed fell to Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco 7-6 (7/4) 4-6 6-3.
